Jack Richardson Promoted to President of MLI.

 

ML Industries, Inc. (MLI) is pleased to announce that, effective June 1, 2022, Jack Richardson, has been
promoted as its President. Jack becomes only the second President in the 32-year history of MLI. Jack
will report directly to Mickey Dunn, Past President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Dunn will continue
to serve as Chief Executive Officer.

In making this decision, CEO Dunn stated, “Jack has completely earned this promotion. He has endless
energy and such a passion for MLI. Our customers thoroughly enjoy working with him. I am so excited
to work with Jack in his new capacity and to help him bring MLI to new levels of success.”

Jack graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1980, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in
Industrial Management. He continued his education at Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the
University of North Carolina and the Poole College of Management at North Carolina State University for
post-graduate studies.

Upon graduation, Jack began his career with Milliken & Company in various roles, ranging from Plant
Manager, to Director of Manufacturing, and, to General Manager. Jack was responsible for launching
the airbag business for Milliken in 1992. Jack developed and grew this business very successfully,
expanding Milliken’s airbag footprint to a global level.

In 2011, after 32 years with Milliken & Company, Jack joined the ML Industries’ team as Vice
President. In this role, he helped diversify and expand the company in different automotive segments
over the past 11 years.

Jack and his wife, the former Cheryl Schroer, have been married since 1982. Together, they have three
married children and four grandchildren. Jack and Cheryl make their home in Newnan, GA.

TS Tech Americas and ML Industries, Inc. sign Joint Venture Agreement

What began as an ordinary automotive interior customer/supplier relationship between TS Tech (Japanese Publicly Traded Corporation) some 10 years ago has now developed and evolved into an extraordinary partnership. On Tuesday, September 7, President and CEO, Mickey Dunn, has confirmed that TS Tech Americas and ML Industries, Inc., (MLI) have finalized a Joint Venture, TSML Innovations, LLC, to produce automotive interiors. Corporate Offices will be located in Hidalgo, Texas, with manufacturing operations performed in north central Mexico.

According to Dunn, negotiations with TS Tech Americas, Inc. began early this year and finalized in mid-August. “This is probably the pinnacle accomplishment of my professional career – aligning MLI with one of, if not the, most significant interior companies in the world. We have done business together since 2011, and, I have to say, TS Tech has been an amazing customer with which to work. There is so much trust and respect between the two companies. This is a relationship that is extremely unique and very successful.” Dunn went on to say, “There is no greater compliment in business than for a 10- year-old customer to invite you into a partnership. The JV makes all the sense in the world. I am very excited about doing everything we can possibly do to make TSML Innovations a complete success.”

“This will be a fun venture, and, I really look forward to working with World Class people such as the leaders of TS Tech Americas, as we build a World Class operation together”, said MLI COO, Teresa Dunn. COO Dunn went on to say, “During the past 10 years we have worked very closely together, and, we have an incredible performance track record. This speaks highly of the trust and respect that both companies have for each other.”

TS Tech Americas, Inc. Executive Vice President Scott Hepner added, “The Joint Venture we have formed with our long-time, trusted supply partner, MLI, is very exciting in so many ways. It starts with this being our first Joint Venture in North America. Beyond that, the immediate capability gained by TS Tech partnering with a company such as MLI is truly the most exciting element of this venture. The people of MLI, from their top-level leadership team to their high skilled production associates, make this partnership quite special.” Hepner will serve as President of TSML Innovations.

According to CEO Dunn, there will be no changes to the current MLI structure and organization. The Company will be a completely separate entity. Dunn said that his plans for MLI do not change; he will continue to expand and optimize MLI in its various business segments.

ML Industries, Inc. is proud to announce its new Strategic Partnership with a 70-year-old, family-owned Italian company, Dani Leather. The formal agreement was finalized on June 24th 2020 between the two companies.

Mickey Dunn, President and CEO of ML Industries, announced today the new Partnership Agreement. The partnership will provide comprehensive leather cutting, sewing, lamination, and finishing services for the Steering Wheel and Seating applications for the entire North American automotive industry.

ML Industries Revving Up For Busy 2020

Company to hire 1,000 new associates next year

ML Industries president and CEO, Mickey Dunn, recently announced the company will hire approximately 1,000 new associates to handle new business it has won for 2020 and 2021.  The employment level at ML Industries will top 5,000 associates by the end of 2020.   CEO Dunn stated, “We are seeing growth in all areas of our business beginning in 2020 and continuing through at least 2021.  The economy continues to perform well and we are reaping the benefits of this.  We haven’t seen growth like this in 3 or four years so this is a very exciting time for all of us at MLI.”  ML Industries is one of the largest suppliers of airbags, leather wrapped steering wheels, and automotive trims.

Turnover was almost nonexistent in comparison to previous years.” COO Ground credits this to the strong management team that MLI has developed over the past several years. “We have a great management team that treats all of their associates with dignity and respect. This has paid huge dividends relative to retaining key employees over many years.” ML Industries expects moderate growth in 2018 in several segments of its business.

ML Industries Awarded Contract as Exclusive Source of Honda Civic Seat Covers World Wide

ML Industries has finalized an agreement with TS Tech North America to become its sole manufacturer of seat covers for all Honda Civic vehicles world-wide. According to CEO, Mickey Dunn, this will add 800 new jobs to the Company. Dunn said most of these positions have already been filled in anticipation of winning this business.

With this new business, MLI’s workforce now stands at slightly more than 6,000 Associates. Dunn stated, “We expect employment levels to reach over 7,000 Associates by July 2017, as we are experiencing growth across all business segments.” According to Dunn, MLI will grow 40% in 2016.

Dunn had nothing but praise for all MLI Associates, stating, “This is a win that represents who we are and what we are about. When you consistently deliver on-time with exceptional cost and phenomenal quality, there will be unlimited opportunities for you to grow your business with World Class customers. That is what we are doing today.”

ML Industries to Expand Francisco Madero, Coahuila Mexico Plant

Due to increased production demands in all segments of its business, ML Industries President and CEO, Mickey Dunn, announced on January 29th that ML Industries will add 30,000 square feet of manufacturing floor space to its Francisco I. Madero plant. The current 120,000 square foot facility is located 20 minutes northeast of Torreon and employs approximately 2,200 Associates. The expansion is slated to be completed by June 1, 2016.


According to Dunn, this addition will allow for selected airbag consolidation as well as better prepare MLI for significant long-term growth coming in mid-2016. “We are very excited about this expansion as it helps address double-digit growth that we will experience in both 2016 and 2017. We are also planning a similar expansion of our San Pedro plant for the fourth quarter of 2016 or the first quarter of 2017.” ML Industries forecasts employment to grow from 4,500 associates to over 5,500 associates by the end of 2016.

MLI to Hire 600 Additional Associates

Mickey Dunn, MLI President and CEO announced today that the company will hire 600 additional associates to support increased demand in its airbag/curtain business. The hiring will begin in mid-June. Dunn stated that employment at MLI will reach 4,500 associates once complete. MLI is the largest manufacturing company in the Torreon, Coahuila region. The company continues to experience record growth with the majority of this growth being related to various automotive segments of MLI’s business. MLI is a 25 year old company with manufacturing operations located in North and Central Mexico.

Hiroshi Nemoto Joins MLI as VP of Sales

Mickey Dunn President/CEO announced recently that Hiroshi Nemoto has joined the MLI team as VP of Sales. Hiroshi will report directly to Dunn and will be responsible for continual development of MLI’s existing customer base as well as continued growth of MLI. MLI is expected to have double digit growth in 2015.

Hiroshi-san was born and raised in Shizuoka, Japan and came to the US to attend college. After earning a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Arizona State University he begin his career in the automotive business working with major suppliers such as Calsonic Kansei, TRW and Magna seating. Hiroshi-san played very responsible roles as Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, Program Manager, Account Manager, Sales Program Manager, Assistant Sales Director and Director of Business Development.

Hiroshi-san is an inventor and co-inventor for four airbag related patents. One of the patents was implemented for 1997-2002 Ford Escort driver side airbag module to reduce is complexity, mass and cost. Another patent was utilized for the 1998 and 1999 Toyota Avalon passenger side airbag module for depowering and to improve the class A surface fit to the dash panel.

Dunn stated, “we are certainly excited and blessed to have Hiroshi-san as part of MLI. He brings a wealth of expertise and experience in many facets of the automotive manufacturing business to the MLI team. I am confident Hiroshi-san will enjoy much success with MLI.”
